Yakuza: Like a Dragon review
First Impressions
Yakuza: Like a Dragon is an interesting RPG game with fantasy powers integrated into an urban action setting. It is unique with its mix of styles, it’s feel, and the play style of controlling a group. When in the open world, you run into “dangerous men” and other types of street thugs that will also have their own fantasy powers. There are also jobs you complete and progress through its surprisingly developed and interesting story.
Building Your Team
Whether you’re trying to complete a job or just trying to survive in the open world, having a strong and compatible team is important. You can have a team of up to six members which you can control one of at a time. Choosing your team is similar to strategy RPG games, since you want to have differing roles for each member. This part is really up to you and your playstyle but it tends to be best to have one member with high attack, one with high defense, and a few supports.
Mini-Games
When you download Yakuza: Like a Dragon you may not be expecting there to be fun and quirky min-games in it, but there definitely are. These mini-games are similar to strangers & freaks missions on GTA or the side missions in Saints Row. The mini games in Yakuza though, have their own unique feel and always include something outrageous that makes it a Yakuza game. While they aren’t a main part of the story, these mini-games can get addicting and you may just end up spending a lot of time on these silly in-game tasks.
