Supermarket Shriek Review
First Impressions
Supermarket Shriek is a unique racing game that has you race through obstacles in a shopping cart, with a goat. The game is available to download on all platforms including Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Supermarket Shriek is a goofy and fun racing game similar to Nippon Marathon, with awkward physics and cheeky obstacles to try to handle as you complete your race.
The Gameplay
Supermarket Shriek is not story-driven at all but does have levels that put you in obstacle courses of increasing intensity. The levels can get difficult to complete and have their own creative obstacles that are sure to get you at some point. This game is not meant to be taken seriously and is just for a bit of fun that can range from relaxing to chaotic. The most difficult part of navigating these obstacles isn’t just the obstacles themselves though, but getting through using the awkward controls.
The Controls
The controls for this game are very simple and very complex at the same time and can take some getting used to. To turn right you press a button to make your character scream, turning left is the same but making the goat scream, and to go forward you have to press both, propelling the cart with your screams. The controls are purposely wonky and hard to get used to as a part of the challenge in this game. And this game can get challenging.
